Who is responsible
The data controller is EUROPE WIFI S.R.L., the company that runs the Europe Rent WiFi shops, with registered office at Via di Bellosguardo 2/R, 50124 Firenze (FI), Italy, VAT number and tax code 06866170480. For any request about your data write to info@europerentwifi.com or call +39 055 286531. Full company details are on the legal notice. We have not appointed a data protection officer: the size and nature of what we process do not require one.
What we collect, and why
When you book, we ask for and store:
- Your name — so the bag goes back to the right person.
- Your email address — to send the confirmation, the booking code and the cancellation link. Without it you have no proof of booking.
- Your phone number, if you give one — used only to reach you about that booking, for example if you have not collected and we are about to close.
- The booking itself — shop, times, number and size of bags, the price and how it was calculated, and the times we checked the bag in and out.
The legal basis is the performance of the contract you enter into when you book. We cannot provide the service without this data.
If you write to us through the contact form, we receive your name, your email address, the booking code if you add one and your message. They reach us as an email at info@europerentwifi.com, are used only to reply to you and are kept in our mailbox like any other correspondence; the site itself does not store them.
Payment
Card payments are handled by Stripe. Card numbers are entered inside Stripe’s own form and never reach our servers or our database. We store the payment reference Stripe gives us, the amount and the currency, so that we can match a payment to a booking and issue refunds.
Who else processes your data
- Stripe — payments and refunds.
- Resend — sending the confirmation and cancellation emails, and the contact form messages to us.
- Hostinger — hosting the site and the database where bookings are stored, on servers in Germany (Frankfurt).
- Google (Analytics 4, Ads) — only if you accept the optional cookies, for the purposes in the section below.
We do not sell your data, and we do not pass it to anyone else for their own purposes.
Cookies and tracking
Two kinds of cookies are involved. The necessary ones are always on: the ones Stripe sets on the payment page to keep the payment session together and stop fraud, the session cookie for the staff area at /admin, set only for people who log in there, the record of your own cookie choice, and the language you picked with the language switcher. The optional ones, for analytics and advertising, stay off until you accept them in the banner. You can change your mind at any time, here or from “Cookie preferences” in the footer of every page.
If you reject, nothing is loaded: no Google script runs on the page. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 is loaded; if you accept advertising, Google Ads conversion tracking. Google also receives a consent signal that matches your choice (Consent Mode v2). Your choice is kept in your browser for six months, after which we ask again; it is also asked again if what we use changes.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lasts | Group |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| erw-consent | Europe Rent WiFi (browser storage, not a cookie) | Remembers your cookie choice | 6 months | necessary |
| __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Stripe | Payment session and fraud prevention, booking page only | 1 year, 30 minutes | necessary |
| authjs.session-token | Europe Rent WiFi | Login to the staff area, set only for staff | Session | necessary |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics 4 | Counts visits, sources, devices and the pages that lead to a booking | 2 years | analytics |
| _gcl_au | Google Ads | Records that a booking followed a Google advert | 3 months | advertising |
Google LLC may transfer data to the United States; it relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and on standard contractual clauses. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses, and we keep its data for 14 months. The legal basis for the optional cookies is your consent (art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code); withdrawing it is as easy as giving it, from the button above.
Emails about your booking
We send only the emails your booking needs: the confirmation with the code, the cancellation, and if necessary a message from the shop about that booking. We do not send newsletters or promotional emails, and we do not ask for any consent to do so. If that ever changes, we will ask you first.
How long we keep it
Booking records are kept for the period Italian law requires for accounting and tax documents. We do not photograph the luggage; you are welcome to photograph your own. Staff actions on a booking are logged for audit, and those logs are kept with the booking.
CCTV in the shops is a separate matter from this website: recordings are handled under the notice displayed in the shop.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a portable format. Ask us and we will act within one month. You can also complain to the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
Deletion has a limit worth stating plainly: we cannot delete an invoice we are legally required to keep. Everything not held for that reason can go.
